Clements International Celebrates The Season By Giving Back
(PRWEB) November 26, 2008 -- Clements International turned a typical day at work into an opportunity to give back to the community yesterday, when over 40 staff members volunteered at So Others Might Eat (S.O.M.E.), a local non-profit providing food, clothing, and other services to the area's homeless.
S.O.M.E. is completely reliant on volunteers to carry out its mission. For the past several years, Clements International has held food drives and made donations to S.O.M.E., but this year staff opted to extend their generosity even further by putting on an apron and spending some time in the S.O.M.E. kitchen. Over lunchtime, staff served meals to nearly 500 people.
Vice President of Human Resources Kate Sprouls helped organize the event and says the day became "the gift that gave back." She explains, "We shared a profound and unifying experience together, and we look forward to continuing to support S.O.M.E.'s efforts."
Clements International plans to continue its outreach efforts, both locally and internationally in 2009. For pictures and video of the event, please visit www.clements.com/blog.
