ExpressDigital President and CEO Graham McFarland Honored by Dealerscope Magazine
(PRWEB) August 12, 2006 -- ExpressDigital President and CEO Graham McFarland was selected as one of Dealerscope Magazine’s 40 Under 40, a national ranking of the most promising individuals in the consumer electronics industry under the age of 40.
The listing represents an innovative new generation of thinkers and looks into the future and potential of national business standouts. In its fifth year, Dealerscope’s 40 Under 40 ranking is one of the most prestigious national lists for young business leaders in consumer electronics.
ExpressDigital has grown from small beginnings to become the foremost authority on workflow solutions, Internet storefronts, lab synergy and photography enrichment. Over lunch with a friend more than 12 years ago, McFarland had a conversation about youth sporting events and photography. After researching the possibilities and looking to invest in a digital camera and printer, he discovered that in order to get the camera to talk to the printer, it would cost an additional $13,000 over the price of the equipment. His financial background told him there needed to be a better solution.
“In the beginning, I thought I’d just start a little company on the side,” McFarland said.
What started as a software company founded on the belief that software could be just as important to photography as cameras or film turned into a leader in digital workflow software, Internet storefronts and lab solutions. McFarland’s “little company” now has nearly a 50 percent market share among professional photographers. The company’s products include PhotoReflect.com, Labtricity and award-winning Darkroom, which allows photographers to work with RAW images from capture to print.
McFarland is a frequent speaker at a variety of different photography events across the country. ExpressDigital Darkroom software was honored with the Editor’s Choice Award from American Photographer and the Professional Photography Hot 1 Award, both in 2005.
