The IRS is embarking on an enterprise-wide effort to document, analyze and manage business rules from multiple sources, including the United States Code, the Code of Federal Regulations, policies and expert business knowledge. RuleBurst’s Business Rules Management System will play an important role in enabling IRS policy experts to manage the agency’s rules, by allowing rules to be authored in familiar Microsoft® Office tools such as Word, Visio® and Excel while enabling IRS staff to use a powerful RuleBurst analysis and simulation toolset.
