These people (I call them frogs) offering these often outdated
services aren’t breaking any laws because they’re giving the customers what they
want. However, the traffic the Internet Marketers are getting is completely
useless (and usually temporary) because there is almost no way it will result in leads, sales, or added credibility.
Why do I call them frogs? Primarily it's because they
appear to be offering great marketing services just as a frog jumping 30 feet
could appear to be flying, at least for a moment. But in reality these
frogs are simply leaping from product to product hoping to make a few bucks off
of your willingness to do whatever it takes to bring business to your site.
Unfortunately most of the traffic they send you is what I refer to as junk
traffic. It's often computer programs and other people in traffic
exchanges who have no intention to buy, they're simply trying to get traffic
too.
You' don't want to be with the frogs,
you want to soar high with the eagles.

Good quality Search Engine Optimization takes time. You have to have good title tags, good content, and great one-way links going to your site. In fact, it’s best if these links vary in the description that links to you. This is why hand-submitting your site to all of the major search engine directories is so vital to the long-term success for your site.
It may indeed cost hundreds and even a couple of thousand dollars to successfully be included in all the major directories, but it’s usually a one-time fee that has benefits for years to come. Effective marketing
Effective marketing takes money and lots of it. If you placed one ad in a local print magazine that supposedly reaches 10,000 people in your area, you would be lucky to pay less than $500 for a quarter page ad. If you called the magazine and complained that you didn’t get any customers, they’d probably just laugh. The reality is that potential clients need to see your ad an average of 12 times before they’ll buy from you. It doesn’t matter if you’re talking about print, billboards, press releases, TV or even radio. Repetition is key.
